The evidence, both ways.

Every study here tested some other EAA or protein formula — none tested RDA100. We show who took part, what they took, what was measured and for how long, because a four-hour blood test and a six-month training trial answer different questions.

How to read these cards

"Not significantly different" is not the same as "equal". Faster appearance in blood is not the same as more muscle. Whole-body protein balance is not muscle growth. Lean mass is not a guaranteed kilogram of muscle. Summaries are our own wording of the original papers — follow the links to read them. Review depth varies (abstract, results or full text), and funding and conflicts are listed where known.

Still in our reading queue and not used for any claim: Paddon-Jones 2005 (EAAs between meals), Ferrando 2010 (bed rest), Bukhari 2015 (low-dose EAAs vs whey in older women), Gwin 2025 (EAAs when under-fed), Knezek 2026 (leucine and intracellular metabolism).
